INFORMATION STATUS SOFTWARE AFTER CHARTING:
In accordance with our zeal to develop innovative products, Comunet Systems is proud to announce the availability of its latest offering to the railways sector, The ISSAC (INFORMATION STATUS SOFTWARE AFTER CHARTING) a unique public information system that displays the accommodation availability of the trains 4 hours prior to leaving the station after the charting of the reservation has been done. Usually the passengers who don’t have a reservation have no clue about the accommodation availability and they have to ping the booking clerk to get an updated status and availability in other trains for current reservation (reservation after charting has been done). This increases the waiting time for the passengers who are in the queue, and a lot of them fail to procure a ticket in time to board the train. Usually they have to buy an unreserved ticket and travel and at times the onus comes on to the TTE (Traveling Ticket Examiner) to fill those vacant seats. This is extra burden on them. Often, there are many berths which are vacant thus causing loss of revenue to the Railways.

By introducing this system the Railway authorities can fill those potentially empty seats and increase their revenues but most importantly provide useful and timely information to the last minute passengers. The Chart is usually prepared 4 hours before departure of the train and current reservation is available for upto 15 minutes. Before departure of the train thus this 3 hour 45 min window period is literally an information blackout for the passengers as after the chart has been made the data is not available even on the railways website. By introducing this system this problem can be solved and a lot of empty berths can be filled specially for trains which run on a daily basis. Thus, if seats are available and this information can be provided timely to the passengers more of them will be prompted to buy reserved tickets rather than traveling with unreserved ticket. Thus this product offers a win-win situation for both the Railways authorities and the passengers as both benefit by this. Railways can have boosted revenue earnings and passengers can have a comfortable and convenient journey.

The hardware we will provide with the system:

One P IV based PC with a TV out card.
One Live and working NTES port (For getting the data )-Provided by Railway
One large public display media preferably a 42” Plasma TV for best output (Multiple screens can be put up for greater visibility)

The Working of the Software:

The software gathers the list of trains which are about to depart within the next 4 hours from the current time, and fetches the availability status of the trains for major station on its route (Both queries require NTES Port) for various classes. For example a train running from Howrah to Dhanbad the accommodation for Burdwan, Durgapur, Asansol will be displayed (the stations are returned by the NTES port and are fixed according to the route of the train) and displays it on the display medium. The details provided are current and the details can be updated every 10 seconds or more. The software is totally automated and can work any where provided the above requirements are fulfilled.
